ABILITY English was thrilled to take part in the world’s biggest English lesson, held at Bondi Beach, NSW on 12 February. Organised by English Australia, the event broke the Guinness World Record, with approximately 3000 students from 62 different nations participating.
The team from ABILITY worked alongside 26 other English Australia member colleges from around the state to support the event and design the lesson plan. The four-hour lesson covered topics including idioms, conditionals and how to sound more natural when speaking in the past tense.
The event was held to highlight the diversity of English language students in the country and to showcase Australia’s popularity as a study location.
Over half a million international students are currently studying here from around the globe, making the international education sector worth nearly $20bn to the Australian economy, and making Australia one of the top destinations for international students.
